Mary K. Layco
Of Prospect Heights

Mary K. Layco was born on September 10, 1950 in Chicago to John and Marian (nee Bryant) Balcom.  She died Thursday, December 26, 2013.

Mary was a math teacher at Adlai E. Stevenson High School. She taught Math for over 41 years, 36 of those years were spent at Stevenson.  She received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career.  
 
Mary is survived by her husband, Patrick T. Layco; her sisters, Dorothea (Anthony) Witthoff, Kathleen (Albert) Vincek, Eileen (Michael) Balcom-Vetillo, Patricia (Neil) O'Brien and Ann (Timothy) Spears; her brother-in-law, Michael J. Layco; her nieces and nephew, Heather (Jean Pierre), Lauren and Russ (Ana); and her great-nieces and great-nephew, Eileen, Simone and Aidan; her faithful K-9 buddy Zoie.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents.
 
Memorial visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, IL 60004.  Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, December 30, 2013 from Glueckert Funeral Home proceeding to St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM.
