William E. “Bill” Broadfoot
Of Arlington Heights

Bill Broadfoot was born on August 12, 1924 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Roscoe and Ella (Rohrscheib) Broadfoot. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Marie Baning and sister Ruth Broadfoot. Bill passed away December 23, 2012 in Arlington Heights.

Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner, WI and formerly a member of St Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. He loved spending summers in Spooner at the cottage and winters in Saint Augustine, FL. He loved traveling, golf and spending time with family and friends. He especially liked attending reunions with his Broadfoot cousins (Majoris, Shryock, Raymond, Roddy, Scott, Brobst, Roth & MacMartin).

Bill is survived by his wife of seventeen years Eileen (Marinelli Bridges) Broadfoot. In addition to his wife, his sister Janet Frances Dodge of Lynwood, WA, his children Thomas (Janice) Broadfoot, James (Anh) Broadfoot, Carol (Brian) Baldini, & Janet Murray; his stepsons Brian (Jane) Bridges and David Bridges and his grandchildren Sarah, Dan & Emily Broadfoot, Stephanie (Brandon) Cook, Tom Baldini, Ryan, Megan & Riley Bridges and many Broadfoot cousins.

Bill grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Mondovi High School in 1942. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and later attended Valparaiso Universities first engineering school and graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Bill & Elaine were happily married for 40 years. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Co after 35 years as Superintendent of Transportation. He was involved in his church and community. He was a past president of the Arlington Heights Lions Club, Scoutmaster of Troop 37, and a member of the building committee at St Peter Church. He was a member of the SpoonerVFW at the time of his death.

Internment will be at Town of Maine Cemetery, Park Ridge, IL. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northwest Suburban Boy Scouts of America, 600 Wheeling Rd., Mount Prospect, IL 60056 or St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, IL. 60004.
