Lorraine C. Mraz
Of Arlington Heights
Lorraine C. Mraz was born July 26, 1921 in Chicago to Stanley L. and
Bertha (nee Karafait) Chleboun. She died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at
the Pepper Family Hospice Home and Care Center in Barrington.
Lorraine attended Morton High School East where she met her husband and
developed a passion for music, and where she played the clarinet and
piano. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women’s Club, the
book club, and the Tri-S Club, and a member of the Morton Band Girls
Club. She was a piano teacher, and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Miles J. Mraz, whom she
married June 24, 1944; her children, Miles S. (Carol), Marshall J.
(Debbie), and Michael W. (Julie) Mraz; her grandchildren, Michael,
Kathryn and Betsy Mraz, Rev. Gary (Bridget) Schick, and Diana (Jerry)
Williams.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, William
S. (Jan) Chleboun.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday December 28, 2011 at
the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4
blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 9:30
AM, Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.
Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of
Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010 or The
