Lester D. Anderson
Of Arlington Heights
Lester D. Anderson was born on December 22, 1920 in Chicago, IL to
Ernest and Louise (nee Hahn) Anderson. He died Monday, December 19, 2011
in Arlington Heights.
Les was a graduate of Austin High School and played starting guard on
their 1937 and 1938 National Champion Football Teams. He was a 53 year
member of First Baptist Church of Park Ridge and enjoyed singing with
several barbershop groups.
Lester is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn (nee Owen); his son,
Lester Jr. (Katherine) Anderson; his daughter, Jacqueline (Thomas)
Griesemer; his grandchildren, Thomas (Kerry) Griesemer, Katherine (Adam)
Dread, Shawn (Ashley) Griesemer, David (Erin) Anderson and Christopher
(Sarah) Griesemer; 11 great-grandchildren; his niece, Suzanne Stevens;
and his nephew, Craig Anderson.
He was preceded in death by parents; his sister, Lorraine (the late
Owen) Huizinga; and his brother, Ernest (the late Violet) Anderson.
Visitation Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 10:00 AM until the time of
funeral service at 11:00 AM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington
Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Entombment private.
