Michael S. Grant
of Arlington Heights

Michael S. Grant, a long time resident of Arlington Heights, was born May 8, 1949 in Buffalo, New York to Stewart M. and Ella Mae Ruth (nee Schwabl) Grant. He passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Michael was a graduate of Arlington High School, Grinnell College (BA), and Chicago Kent College of Law (JD). As an attorney, Michael practiced law in Lake, McHenry, and Cook Counties for the past 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (nee Weber) Grant; his son, Christopher (Jayme) Grant; his cherished granddaughter, Lily Jule; his father, Stewart M. Grant; his sisters, Susan E. Roy and Patricia R. (Steven) Weber; his mother-in-law, Elsie Weber; and his beloved extended family of nieces, nephews, and grand niece, baby Adia Rose.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Ruth; his father-in-law, Rudolph Weber, his brother-in-law, John W. Roy, Sr.; and his nephew, James Stewart Roy.

Visitation is from 3:30 PM until time of Memorial Service at 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment is private. Immediately following the service, friends, family, colleagues and clients are invited for remembrance and refreshments at the Grants’ Family Home in Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family suggests that, at this special time of year, donations be made to a favorite charity, church or school, to help brighten the season for children in need.
