Evelyn Ann Schroeder
Of Arlington Heights

Evelyn Ann Schroeder was born December 6, 1919 in Chicago to Michael and Anna (nee Roth) Reiter who emigrated from Moritzfeldt, Austria-Hungary. She passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Arlington Heights from complications of COPD.

Evelyn was a gracious, elegant, kind, and thoughtful person, and a friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert Frederick Schroeder; her children, Robert Frederick Jr. (Elaine) Schroeder of Juneau, AK, Bradley Alan (Ginger) Schroeder of Arlington Heights, Marybeth (Charles) Vernon of Evanston, and John William (Catherine) Schroeder of Saratoga, CA; her grandchildren, Vu (MyLe), Nathan, and Eve Schroeder, Jennifer (David) Glatt, Douglas Schroeder, Theodore (Sok Nak), Elliot, and Gregory Vernon, and Tamara and Anna Schroeder; her great-grandchildren, Robbie, Erik, and Katelyn Schroeder, and Lily and Isabella Vernon; and her many friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; and her three brothers, Joseph, John, and Walter Reiter.

A memorial service will be held in January.

Her family is grateful for the loving help and support of the staff of the Hearthstone at Luther Village and Robert’s caregivers, Chris, Roland, and Eric.
