Michael Patrick Shields
Of Arlington Heights

Michael Patrick Shields was born July 14, 1950 in Chicago to Frank and Florence (nee Kobler) Shields. He passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Shields worked for the United States Postal Service and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Susan (nee Slovey) Shields whom he married June 23,1990; his children, Michelle (Henry) Froehlich, Richard Lowell, and Michael Shields; his four grandchildren; his mother, Florence; and his siblings, Maripat Nellis, Bill (Lisa) Shields, Kim (Terry) Burns, James (Sue) Shields, and Margie (Rich) Bartel.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Frank.

Memorial Mass 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 18, 2010 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 640 N. LaSalle - Suite 280, Chicago, IL 60654.
