Ralph Raymond Wiederhold
Of Arlington Heights
Ralph Raymond Wiederhold was born October 23, 1924 in Chicago. He died
December 22, 2009 at ManorCare of Rolling Meadows,
Mr. Wiederhold was a commercial artist who worked at many art studios.
He served in the Army during WW II and was awarded numerous ribbons and
citations. Ralph loved Airplanes of the WW II era and old cars,
especially Duesenberg’s. A 1943 graduate at Maine East High School, he
placed third in State for hurdles.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara nee Alexander, whom
he married November 23, 1947; his children Kim (Patty) Alexander of
Cary, Kyle Wiederhold of Arlington Hts., Kevin (Maxi) Wiederhold of
Chicago, Rob Wiederhold of Bothell, Wash., Dwight (Susan) Wiederhold of
Hoffman Estates and Lisa (John) Hanisch of Vernon Hills; his
grandchildren Sarah, Steve, Alex, Jeremy, Melessa, Lisa and Susan; his
great granddaughter Anya; his sister Edith Hoffmann and his brother Ken
Wiederhold.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Dorothy
“Dottie” Schumann, Jeannette “Toots,” William and Harold Wiederhold,
Oliver Carlson and Bob Dettmer.
Memorial Service 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of
Palatine Rd.,), Arlington Heights. Family will receive guests from 3:00
PM until time of service.
