Gail B. Dalgleish
Of Arlington Heights

Gail B. Dalgleish was born March 5, 1937 in Chicago to Donald H. and Barbara (nee Bell) Birney. She died December 13, 2009 in Arlington Heights.

Gail began her career as a runway model for Berger’s in Buffalo, NY. In the Chicago area, she worked in retail sales and was the office manager for Superior Temps until her retirement in 1993. She loved photography, designing and crafting jewelry, flower arranging and adored her garden filled with flowers. Gail believed in giving back to others and followed her grandkids by volunteering at Promiseland at Willow Creek Community Church. She lived for her family and “Nana” was the loudest cheerleader at her grandkids’ events.

Gail is survived by her husband, Allan, of 52 years, whom she married on October 5, 1957 in Kenilworth, IL; her children, D. Shawn Dalgleish of Round Lake Beach, IL, Mitch (Kim) Dalgleish of Sun Prairie, WI and Heather (Keith) Stout of West Chicago, IL; her cherished grandchildren Derek and Jared Dalgleish, Ryder, Rylee, Madelynn and Megan Stout; her sister, Joan Chapel and sister-in-law Anne Birney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald H. “Butch” Birney, Jr.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 11:30 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment Private.
