Joseph J. Meissner

Joseph J. Meissner was born on July 7, 1920 in Chicago to Joseph and Anna (nee Cepicky) Meissner. He passed away on December 3, 2009 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Meissner was a member of the Victory Choral Club at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Chicago. In his younger years, Joseph participated in a barbershop quartet. He was a member of the Superintendent and Foremans Club in Chicago. He enjoyed gardening, loved his family and was loved by all.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilynn (nee Leis); his children, Craig (Barbara) Meissner of Algonquin, Kerry Meissner of Chicago, Jeffrey Meissner of Rolling Meadows, Laurie Ferris of Arlington Heights and Christopher Meissner of Elgin; his grandchildren, Craig Meissner Jr., Beth (Ben) Rodriguez, Cheryl (Justin) Hansen and Teresa (Dave) Schultz; and his great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Christian Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Les Bialek.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:45 AM, Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment private.
