William H. Schinkowsky was born October 20, 1919 in Barrington to John and Rose (nee Mirs) Schinkowsky. He died Friday, December 12, 2008 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge,
Mr. Schinkowsky was employed as a Bus Salesman for Superior Coach and later Ross Coach before retiring in 1984. He served in the Army during WW II and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant after serving more than 3 ½ years. Bill was a member of the Palatine American Legion Post 690 and Bensenville VFW Post 2149.
His survivors include his wife Virginia M. nee Coy whom he married May 1, 1941; his sons Richard (Holly) of Maple Grove, Minn. and Michael (Carolyn) of Richmond, Ill.; and his grandchildren Aleksandra, Ryan, Kyle and Trey.
Bill is preceded in death by brother Gottfried and his parents.
Visitation from 4:00 until 8: PM, Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial at Randhill Park.
In lieu of flowers, family requests Masses or contributions to St. James Catholic Church.
