John Anthony LaMonica Sr. was born June 13, 1922 in Chicago to Peter and Santa (nee Lombardo) LaMonica. He died December 14, 2008 at The Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights.
Mr. LaMonica was a graduate of Lane Technical High school in Chicago, before serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a long time parishioner of St. James Catholic Church, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
John is survived by his son John A. Jr. (Mary) LaMonica and his grandchildren Drake, Trent and Elizabeth LaMonica.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (nee Marth) LaMonica whom he married June 20, 1950 in Chicago; his daughter Debra Digati-LaMonica and by his parents.
Visitation from 3 until 9 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Thursday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10 AM. Entombment at All Saints Cemetery.
