Thomas J. McNicholas
Of Arlington Heights
Thomas was born November 4,
1927 in Chicago to Thomas
and Margaret (nee Ward)
McNicholas. He Died December
23, 2007 at Manor Care of
Arlington Heights.
Thomas was a devoted husband
and loving father and
grandfather who spent his
retirement in the service of
others. He was past
president of Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 981, where
he advocated for accessible
healthcare for veterans a
Knights of Columbus Rosary
Council # 4483 & also a 4th
degree member. A U.S. Army
veteran, Thomas served from
1950-1952 with the Allied
Military Government and
Trieste United States Troops
(TRUST) in the Free
Territory of Trieste
monitoring the peace treaty
between Italy and Yugoslavia
in the wake of Word War II.
Survivors include his
children Michael (Faith) McNicholas, James McNicholas,
Sharon (Gregory) Brehm,
Joyce (Michael) Darling and
Daniel McNicholas;
grandchildren Nicholas,
Patrick, Edward, Andrew,
Kevin, Kathleen and Matthew;
sisters Marie (Norbert) Hund
and Anne (John) Giangrasse;
brother John (Eleanor)
McNicholas; sisters-in law
Bridget Beakey, Helena, Mary
and Irene; brothers-in-law
Daniel O’Shea, Vincent (Ann)
O’Shea and Michael J.
O’Shea; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death
by his beloved wife
Catherine “Kitty” (nee O’Shea) and his parents, his
sisters Theresa McNicholas
and Margaret (Dr. Donald)
Fahrenbach, sister-in-law
Teresa O’Shea and
brothers-in-law Sean Beakey
and Joseph Giangrasse.

Friday, at the Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd., to Our
Lady of the Wayside Church,
440 S. Mitchell, Arlington
Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM.
Burial at Queen of Heaven
Cemetery.
