Leroy C. Rodig
Of Arlington Heights
Leroy C. Rodig was born March 22, 1931 in Chicago to Carl O. and Viola (nee Ruckdeschel). He died December 25, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Rodig worked in Research and Development as an Engineer for Zenith/Rauland and later Intra Action before retiring in 1997. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Leroy graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1949 and attended Illinois Institute of Technology.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley L. (nee Sutton), whom he married on January 16, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri; his children, Dianne (Richard) Sales of Delta, CO, Carl of Arlington Heights; Susan of Schaumburg, and Gwendolyn (Michael Brown) Rodig-Brown; his granddaughter, Amber (Sean) Gregersen; his siblings, Robert (Shirley) Rodig and Marjorie (Lewis) Picard; many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends; and family pets, Baylee, Rescue, and Shandy.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
