Alvah Warren Bickner, Sr.

Alvah Warren Bickner, Sr. was born March 16, 1930 in Passaic, New Jersey. He died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Bickner was a Sales Representative for Morton-Thiokol and Cork Industries before he retired. He served in the Army during the Korean War and is a former member of the Arlington Heights American Legion Merle Guild Post #208. Alvah was a past Chaplin of the BPOE #547 in Rutherford, New Jersey

His survivors include his wife of 53 years Jeannette I. nee Mueller whom he married August 9, 1952; his children Jeannette L. Bickner of Phoenix, Arizona, Alvah W. (Barbara M.) Bickner, Jr. of Plainfield, Thomas A. (Maureen S.) Bickner of Wauconda, Robert G. (Karen) Bickner of Hawthorn Woods, Paul F. Bickner of Arlington Heights, Patricia E. (Marc) Marlowe of Queen Creek, Arizona and John P. Bickner of Arlington Heights; and his 16 grandchildren.

Alvah is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Edward H.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Friday, December 23, 2005 at the funeral home to St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow.
