Anders Solum
Of Arlington Heights
Anders Solum was born December 3, 1929 in Chicago, to Sigurd and Dagmar
(nee Schjulberrg. He died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at his home.
Mr. Solum was a salesman for Metals USA, formerly Fullerton Metals in
Northbrook for 46 years before retiring in 2003.
He served in the US Army Military Police during the Korean War and was a
member of the Normennenes Singing Society from 1965 until 1990.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Diane nee Showalter whom he
married April 7, 1956; his children Pamela (Richard) Tinaglia of
Arlington Heights, Christine Solum of Arlington Heights, Cynthia (Jim)
Tinaglia of Arlington Heights and Scott (Kathy) Solum of McHenry; his
grandchildren Stephanie, Tyler, Brittany, Alexandra, Connor, Jimmy,
Matt, Nicky, Jennifer and Drake; his sister-in-law Sharon Showalter and
his brother-in-law Keith (Susan) Showalter
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, December 31, 2004 at
the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4
blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Thursday,
December 30, 2004 from 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home,
Ltd. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to ENH Hospice,
1603 Orrington, Suite 300, Evanston, IL 60201 or to Kellogg Cancer
