Thomas J. O’Connor Thomas J. O’Connor passed from the life he dearly loved on Sunday, October 27, in Knoxville, Tenn. Tom was born in Chicago on April 9, 1937, to Maurice P. O’Connor and Helen Rozmus O’Connor. He served in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, N.C., and worked in the printing industry in Chicago for more than 35 years. He lived in Arlington Heights for 14 years before moving to Knoxville in 2005. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor, huge repertoire of jokes, and beautiful singing voice. He loved to shoot pool and perform card tricks for family and friends. He studied comedy at Second City in Chicago in the 1960s and was ready with a joke for every occasion. Devoted to his family, Tom is survived by his wife, Marjorie Mack O’Connor, formerly of Wilmette; his son, Bill O’Connor (Mary), Norridge, IL; his daughter, Julie O’Connor (Brian Pirok), Munster, IN; stepson Jeff Williams (Dena) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and stepdaughter, Regan Williams Holt (Brian) of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., as well as his much-loved grandchildren Simon, Owen and Josephine Pirok; Jenna and Alena Pirok; Leonard O’Connor; Taylor Williams; Ashlyn Holt; and great-grandson, John Layton James Williams; brother, James O’Connor, Chicago; and brother-in-law, John Winnicki, Bartlett, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. His sister, Sue O’Connor Winnicki, predeceased him. Visitation and funeral service will be on a date later in November.
