Diane Alida Weichelt
Of Arlington Heights
Diane Alida Weichelt was born on July 17, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Clara (nee Pearson) Mattick. She went to be with Christ on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois after a very courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Diane was a devoted wife and beloved mother and grandmother to her three children and three grandchildren. A teacher, traveler, photographer, Diane lived life to the fullest and never missed an event. She truly treasured the people in her life and was a faithful friend to everyone she came in contact with. She left behind a legacy of strength, courage and class.
Diane is survived by her husband of 43 years Jonathan Louis Weichelt; her children David Jon (Julie) Weichelt, Kristen Lynn (Christopher) Zimmerman, and Karin Diane Weichelt; her grandchildren Jonah Jonathan Weichelt, Katelin Diane and Cara Lynn Zimmerman; and her brothers Richard (Sara) Mattick and Howard (Londa) Mattick. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, November 8, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Funeral service at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Edgebrook Lutheran Church, 5252 West Devon Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Refreshments to follow. Interment private.
