Melvin “Mel” E. Lamberson

Melvin “Mel” E. Lamberson was born November 30, 1938 in Lafayette, IN to Eugene and Virginia (nee Marshall) Lamberson. He died November 23, 2012 at Midwest Palliative Care in Glenview.

Mel served as a Sergeant in the Army, stationed at Fort Sill. He was a charter member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Ball State University. He was a Civil War aficionado who enjoyed reading and writing papers on the Civil War.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 33 years Carol (nee Kornfeind) Lamberson; his children Lisa Lamberson, Thomas Velasco and Michael Velasco; his brother Eugene Lamberson and by his sister in law Eileen Kornfeind.

Mel is preceded in death by his brother Larry Lamberson and by his parents.

A memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday November 27, 2012 at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect. Interment Private. A memorial service will also be held at a future date in West Lafayette, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
