Donald Earl Cummings
Of Arlington Heights

Donald Earl Cummings, formerly of Chicago, was born July 12, 1926 in Neillsville, Wisconsin to James Darrow and Agnes Bell (nee Bryan) Cummings. He died Monday, November 23, 2009 in Prospect Heights.

He served with the Chicago Police Department for 32 years and retired in 1984. He was the past president and treasurer of the Arlington Heights American Legion Post # 208.

Donald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolly (nee Warsaw) Cummings: his daughter, Dawn (Wayne) Fritz of Arlington Heights: his grandchildren, Amanda and Alex; and his siblings, JoAnn Rusinko, Mary Palubicki, Nancy Kelley, Thomas Cummings, and Allen Cummings and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, William Cummings, James Cummings, Agnes Stephens, Robert Cummings and John Cummings.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Don received from Dr. Bruce Bank and the nurses and staff of Northwest Oncology and Associates.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, November 27, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Saturday, Nov. 28, at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
