Enrique Santos Manabat, Jr., M.D., formerly of Green Bay Wisconsin, was born January 18, 1929 in Tarlac, Tarlac, Philippines to Enrique and Rufina (nee Santos) Manabat. He died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Regency Nursing Center in Niles, Ill.

Dr. Manabat was a family practice physician. He was the former medical director of the Brown County Hospital in Green Bay where he was also associated with St. Vincent Hospital. Enrique came to the United States in 1967 and served his residency in Chicago and is the former physician for the Chicago Park District. He was the medical director for the Tarlac Provincial Hospital in the Philippines and was also a pediatrician.

Dr. Manabat was a member of the Wisconsin Medical Society for 30 years, was formerly president of the Tarlac Jaycees and president of the Tarlac Medical Society.


His survivors include his children Vicki (Paul) Calderon, Alma (Benny) Serrano, Ditas (Naz) Musni, Ike Manabat III, Eric Manabat, and Mia (David Coulter) Manabat; his stepson, Chad (Becky) Krull; his grandchildren Monica, Rachel, Vanessa, Oliver, Christine, Christopher, Reginald, Melissa, Niqueta, Mary and Henry Jr.; his great grandchildren Shannyn and Samantha; his siblings Nelly (Rick) Ramirez, Greg, Ninoy, Ben and Aurora (Lalie) Catoto.

Enrique is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3 until 9 PM, Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
