George R. Dreier
Of Arlington Heights

George R. Dreier was born on January 24, 1915 in Chicago to George R. Sr. and Frances (nee Hechenbach) Dreier. He passed away on November 2, 2009 in Arlington Heights.

George was a state certified professional electrical engineer who spent his career designing power stations. He was a very creative man who enjoyed painting in oil, pastel and watercolors. He painted ceramics, enjoyed gardening as well as leather working. George also had a lifelong love of music and literature.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine R., (nee Eklind); his sons, Don, Greg, Ken and Chris (Brenda) Dreier; and his grandson, Brandon Dreier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Howard Dreier; and his step-brother, Richard Farmer.

Visitation from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights and Monday, November 9, 2009 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church or to the American Heart Assn., Memorials & Tributes 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
