Adeline Ann Meekins
Of Inverness

Adeline Ann Meekins, known to all as Adie, was born April 28, 1933 in Winona, MN to Gerhardt and Genevieve (nee Bambenek) Wendt. She died November 2, 2009 at her home in Inverness.

Adie worked for the U.S. Naval Dept. in Washington D.C. After moving to Country Club Hills, she was a founding member and School Secretary at St. Emerich Catholic Church. A long time resident of Arlington Heights, she was an active member and former historian for P.E.O., chapter LH. Adie was an avid golfer, gardener and enjoyed extensive travel. She loved to bake and entertain and she was an accomplished hostess.

Adeline is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years Wayne, whom she married August 8, 1953 in Winona, MN; her loving children Teresa (John) Delany, Kathleen (Douglas) Glaser and Ann (Michael) Schenkel; her cherished grandchildren Katelyn, Erin and Sean Glaser, Beth and Tom Delany and Colin Schenkel; and her dear sister Karen Wendt.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Ruth (Richard) Lundgren and William (Carole) Wendt and by her parents.

Visitation from 3 until 9 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10 AM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Glueckert Funeral Home, proceeding to Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Rd., Inverness for Mass at 11 AM. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
