Sandstrom, of
Grayslake, was born
September 19, 1932
in Chicago to Fred
and Dorothy (nee
Millard) Sandstrom.
He died Wednesday,
November 26, 2008 at
North Chicago VA
Hospice.
Gene learned
close-up magic at an
early age, and
honing his skill
over the years,
continued his love
of it to the delight
of friends and
family. He was the
owner of Around the
Clock Limousine Inc.
and a former
bartender. Gene
served in the Navy
during the Korean
War.
His survivors
include his loving
wife, Karen (nee
Flack); his son
Kevin Sandstrom; his
stepdaughters
Valerie Lucke and
Victoria Johnson;
his grandchildren
Caitlen and Jessica
Lucke; his sister
Audrey (Ralph)
Kornack of Arizona;
numerous nieces and
nephews; and his
special buddy, Joey.
Gene is preceded in
death by his parents
and his sister
Dorothy Scott.
