Betty Lou Osman
Of Buffalo Grove

Betty Lou Osman, age 80 a long-time resident of Buffalo Grove, IL, died November 18, 2008. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 but had the disease for 2.5 years prior. Through out her life she has been figher for what she believes in. She has graciously fought this battle with much effort and still could laugh. She enjoyed sitting in the sun, crafting, reading, movies, and cherished her times with family and friends.

She was born in Chicago, IL, June 23, 1928 at Cook County Hospital to Charles and Florence (Tang) Miller.

She served as a Navy WAC for four years (1953-1957) at Great Lakes Naval Base, Glenview IL.

She married John E. Osman Jr. June 25, 1955, in Chicago, IL . They divorced but remained close.

She was very involved in life in Buffalo Grove. She was a milk-mom for formerly Alcott school, participated in PTA, Cub scouts, Girl Scouts, the kids baseballs games. She and John were active members of the BG Jaycees and made many life-time friends there. She has been an active member of the Living Christ Lutheran Church since the 1968 until she moved to Brainerd in 2008.

She is survived by her three children, Keith (Pam) Osman, Columbia, SC, Karen (Ken) Pederson, Brainerd, MN, and Tom (Jennifer) Osman, Columbia, SC; six grandchildren Rebecca (Gerardo) Arevalo, Michael Osman, Katherine Nichole “Nikki” (Adam) White, Kelli, Jennifer and Samantha Osman and one great-grandchild, Christian Arevalo; dear and close friends like the McQueen and Gopon families, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her companion, John E. Osman (1998), her Mother, Florence Miller (1972), her Father, Charles Miller (1940); her sisters, Joyce Stockero (1986), Charlene (Chickie) Anderson (1992), , Marilyn Schroeder (2007); her brothers, Ronald Miller who died in infancy (1934), Gerald “Skippy” Miller (1989) and Kenneth Miller (1990).

Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Living Christ Lutheran Church, 625 E. Dundee, Buffalo Grove, Ill. where visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral. Burial Memory Gardens Cemetery.
