Robert Emmett “Skip” Kenney
Of Arlington Heights

Robert E. ‘Skip” Kenney was born January 4, 1939 in Chicago to Robert and Mary ( nee McIntyre) Kenney. He died Saturday at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Kenney started his career as a commercial industrial real estate appraiser/ mortgage banker achieving the SRA designation and later worked as a commodities trader. He later became the proprietor of R.E. Kenney Appraisal.

Skip served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He loved golf and will be remembered as a good joke and storyteller and as a true and easy friend. He walked hand in hand to his journey with his higher power. A friend of Bill W.

His survivors include his wife Eugenia M. “Gina” nee Wawrzyniak, whom he married July 16, 1966; his daughter Kathleen (Dr. Robert) Stevens of Chicago, his son R. Michael Kenney of Arlington Heights; and he was “Papa Scoop” to Jack and Scott Stevens.

Skip was preceded in death by his father Robert and his mother Mary Garrity.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial at will be in the family lot following Mass.
