Margaret Evelyn Conner
Formerly of Buffalo, New York

Margaret Evelyn Conner died after a long illness on November 1, 2008 at the Claremont Rehabilitation and Living Center in Buffalo Grove, IL. Born on February 25, 1921 in St. Thomas Ontario, Canada, she lived for 49 years in Snyder, New York before moving to Arlington Heights, Illinois in 2002 to live near her son and his family.

Margaret worked in special events catering for United Food Service at the University of Buffalo and later was employed as Food Services Manager at Harrison Radiator in Tonawanda, New York for many years. She was an active member of the LAMM Post of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Williamsville, New York and a lifelong member of Amherst Community Church where she served in many capacities including singing in the choir.

In retirement she enjoyed helping several area families with child-care responsibilities and especially loved taking care of infants.

Margaret is survived by her son, Douglas, daughter-in-law, Margaret and her grandson, Andrew Conner of Palatine, IL, and nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Conner, her parents, Charles and Bertha Loomis and her sisters Iva Popham and Violet Jensen.

Memorial service, 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder, New York, 14226. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church at that address.
