Donald Draper
Of Arlington Heights

Donald Draper was born on November 30, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York. He died November 4th at Church Creek Health Center in Arlington Heights where he had been lovingly cared for by the staff and Vitas Hospice.

Donald attended Erasmus Hall High School and St. Johns University. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the China Burma India Theater of WWII.

He was with the NCR Corporation for 47 years including Springfield Branch Manager for 11 years. He was a member of four Rotary International Clubs in the cities where his work sent him. He was a volunteer for Northwest Community Hospital and Catholic Charities. He leaves a heritage, even in his lengthy illness, of always being an “old fashioned gentleman”. He was much loved for his kindness, steadiness, humor, and love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen of 65 years, children; Helen Diane Costrini, Savannah, Georgia, Laurel Alexis and her husband Richard Rollins, Naperville, Illinois, Richard Donald and his wife Heather Draper, Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren Angela and her husband Hugues Hariche, Paris, France, David Costrini, Atlanta, Georgia, and Melanie and Victoria Rollins of Naperville.

He was preceded in death by his son Mark Williams Draper.

Visitation Friday, November 7, 2008 from 4:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 6:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.
