Eugene A. Ruckstaetter

Eugene A. Ruckstaetter, 20 year resident of Ft. Myers, Florida was born December 17, 1929 in Des Plaines, Illinois to George Carl and Edna (nee Hoff) Ruckstaetter. He died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at his home.

Mr. Ruckstaetter worked for Teletype, AT&T and Lucent from 1953 until he retired in 1987 as a Department Chief. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Sanibel, Florida. Eugene served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War.

His survivors Include his wife of 55 years, June nee Dressel, whom he married November 7 1952; his children Charles (Kristi) Ruckstaetter of Arlington Heights, Jane (David) Schiffli of Orlando, Fla., and John (Debbie) Ruckstaetter of Glen Ellyn; his grandchildren Andrew Ruckstaetter, Allison and Brian Schiffli, Alex and Tyler Ruckstaetter; his sister Elvira McCanna and his brother George (Ruth) Ruckstaetter.

Memorial service will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of donor’s choice or to First Church of Christ, Scientist, 2950 W. Gulf Dr., Sanibel, FL 33957.
