Julian Johnson

Julian Johnson was born on
August 13, 1920 in Cairo,
Illinois to Leo S. and
Kathleen (nee Gray) Johnson.
He passed away on November
27, 2007 in Glenview.
Mr. Johnson was an Army
veteran of WWII and the
Korean War. He was a 2nd
Lieutenant and a recipient
of the Purple Heart. He
completed his undergraduate
studies at SIU and received
his J.D. from the University
of Illinois. After his
second tour of service in
the Army Mr. Johnson joined
the Waukegan firm of Snyder,
Clarke & Dalziel in 1952 and
became partner in 1954 in
Snyder, Clarke, Dalziel,
Holmquist & Johnson. As a
member of the Illinois State
Bar Association, Mr. Johnson
served on the Assembly from
1974-1990. He was a member
of the Board of Governors
from 1971-1977, treasurer in
1976-77 and chaired the New
Member Committee from
1961-1963. He served on the
Illinois Lawyers Political
Action Committee from 1977
to 1984. He served as
president of the Lake County
Bar Association in 1979-80.
He was also a member of the
Waukegan Elks Club and a
50-year member of the Glen
Flora Country Club in
Waukegan.
He is survived by his wife
of 58 years, Margaret A.
(nee Brinkmeyer) whom he
married on June 8, 1949 in
Cairo, Illinois, his
daughters, Julie (Ed)
Johnson-McGrath of
Watertown, MA and Amy (Mark)
Belmonte of Arlington
Heights and his
grandchildren, Kate and Joey
Belmonte.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and his brother
James.
Visitation from 3:00 PM
until the time of funeral
service at 6:00 PM, Friday,
November 30, 2007 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home,
Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington
Heights Road, (4 blocks
south of Palatine Road)
Arlington Heights.
Interment private.
