Roy Del Vecchio
Of Arlington Heights

Roy Del Vecchio was born on October 13, 1923 in Chicago to John and Julia (nee Rocco) Del Vecchio. He passed away on November 22, 2007 at Northwest Community Heath Care Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Del Vecchio retired in 1985 after 40 years with Capitol Cement in Chicago where he was a carpenter. He served in the Army during WWII. Roy was an active member of St. James Church where he coached basketball for 20 years and participated in the men’s golf league.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Adeline “Sandi” (nee Szczepkowski) whom he married on February 2, 1952, his children, William (Karen) of West Dundee, Joseph (Kristina) of Arlington Heights, Joan (Brian) Lazarz of Arlington Heights, Peter (Robin) of Oconomowoc, WI and James (Susan) of Crystal Lake, his grandchildren, Julie, Denise, Danny, Aurora, Alex, Maddie, Nick, Michael, Claire, Lauren, Jimmy and Joey, and his brothers, James (Genevieve) and John (Betty) Del Vecchio; ans his sister-in-law Mary Del Vecchio.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Follie (Lenny) Larsen and Mary (Mel) Tipton and his brothers Anthony and William Del Vecchio.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM.

Interment Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery in Arlington Heights
