Edmund J. Klimek, age 81 was born August 15, 1925 in Blue Island, Illinois to John and Pauline (nee Tyndorf) Klimek. He died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights.

Edmund retired as a Senior Research Metallurgist with Borg Warner Research with over 30 years of service. Served as a Marine in both WWII and Korean War where he received the Bronze Star. Member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus and American Society of Metals. Holder of numerous automobile related patients. Teacher for ASM (Armor Institute, ITT and Perdue).

Survivors Include his wife of 57 years Loretta (nee Kaliski) whom he married on June 11, 1949 in Blue Island, Illinois. Children: Kristin Klimek of Palatine, Mary (Rory) McClure of Buffalo Grove and John (Tracy) Klimek of Inverness. Grandchildren: Matthew Schreiner, Christopher and Carli Klimek, Sean and John McClure. Sister: Alfreda Filewicz of Blue Island.

He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Klimek and his parents.

Visitation from 3 PM until 9PM, Friday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM, Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Burial at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Home and Services, 800 W. Oakton St. Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
