Robert L. Pfiester
Of Arlington Heights

Robert L. Pfiester was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 15, 1918 to Richard and Marie (nee Kroger) Pfiester. He passed away in Arlington Heights on November 8, 2006.

Robert truly enjoyed people. His wife, Shirley was the love of his life and his family and friends were most important to him. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He enjoyed watching them participate in any activity. Robert was an avid sportsman. He loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. A WWII veteran, Robert served in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Pfiester began his career in 1945 as one of three Glenview Patrolmen. He would later rise to the position of Deputy Chief before retiring in 1978. He began his second career in 1980 as the assistant to the President of Morton Grove Bank where he worked for over 20 years in the areas of public relations and business development.

Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (nee Pagliughi), his daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Smitter of Naperville and Corinne “Corky” (Larry) Richman of Arlington Heights, his grandchildren, Bob (Jenelle) Lockhart, Christine (Alex) Liker and Don, Brad and Ashley Richman, his great-granddaughter, Sydnee Lynn Lockhart, his sisters, Rose Marie Sopko of Grayslake and Diane Meore of Des Plaines, his sister in law, Dolores Adams, his brother-in-law Raymond (Pat) Paige and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Richard and Alfred, his sister, Mildred Kraabel-Stephenson, his brothers in law, Mike Sopko, Greg Meore, Jim Stephenson, Bob Kraabel, and John Adams, his sister in law, Florence Pfiester and his father in law and mother in law, Joseph and Alma (nee Gmaehle) Pagliughi.

Funeral service 11:30 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Lutheran Home & Service, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Interment Private
