Edith L. Thompson
Of Arlington Heights

Edith L. Thompson was born in Chicago on September 22, 1913 to Charles M. and Carrie L. (nee Torgersen) Thompson. She passed away at Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights on November 3, 2006.

Edith was a 1931 graduate of Maine Township High School and a 1936 graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago where she remained a life member. She also received a diploma in 1966 from Wiesbaden Herzfeld School of Art after three years of study. Edith worked as a freelance greeting card artist. Her works of art include watercolors, pastel portraits and oil landscapes.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Petersen of Arlington Heights and her nieces, Sheila (Dan) Wertz of Buffalo Grove and Janice (Carl) Christiansen of Addison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Gordon Thompson.

Memorial service for will be held 4:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment private.
