Amanda Elise Reese
Of Arlington Heights

Amanda Elise Reese was born September 29, 1980 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge to James E. and Carole Anne (nee Menna) Reese. She died suddenly on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

After graduating in December of 2002 from Illinois State University, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, Amanda has been volunteering for AmeriCorps on projects in Virginia, Washington, DC, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. While with AmeriCorps, she graduated from DC Village last July and has been Team Leader of Class XII/Team #5 Red. Recently her team has been helping FEMA in Mississippi assisting on the Hurricane Katrina relief effort and preserving the Everglades in Florida for the Nature Conservancy. Amanda is a former YMCA camp counselor and an employee at the Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities in Lombard

Her survivors include her parents, her grandmothers Jean Menna and Lucille Reese; her aunt Kathy (Dave) Mutz and her cousin Mackenzie Mutz.

Amanda is preceded in death by her grandfathers George Menna and Elton Reese.

Funeral services 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Friday, November 25, 2005 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment will be at Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
