John E. Berry
Of Arlington Heights

John E. Berry was born June 25, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio to Edwin and Anna (nee Ruddy) Berry. He died Monday, November 21, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Berry was a salesman in the newspaper industry for many years with Whitlock & Co. from 1953-1984 and with Berkley Small from 1984 until 1987. After retiring from full time employment, he operated John Berry Promotions/Incentives an advertising specialties company. He served in the Navy during WW II and later in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Menominee, Michigan American Legion Post #146.

John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nancy R. nee Anderson, whom he married January 28, 1984; his children Patrick (Donna) Berry of Morris, Ill. Mark (Anita) Berry of Naperville, JoAnne (Bill) Harbecke of Chicago, Marcia "Mardi" (Peter) LaMonica of Bloomingdale, Karen (Phil) Scardina of Forest Park and Kevin (Tami) Berry of Carol Stream; his 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; his sister Libby Pitra; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister Mary McGarity.

Memorial service 4:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks South of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Visitation 1:30 PM until the time of service.
