June LaVerne "Pooky" Meier, formerly of Arlington Heights, was born June 1, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan. She died Friday, November 11, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Meier was a homemaker. She enjoyed participating at the Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows Senior Centers.

Her survivors include her husband of 43 years, David W. Meier, whom she married November 4, 1963; her daughters Karen (Robert) Howorth of Laurel, Miss. and Lynda Dezura of McHenry; her grandchildren Kimberli Laasch, Shelley (James) Knapp and Jeffrey Laasch and her great grandchildren Nicholas and Kristofer Homerding, Kaitlin Gray, Ember June and Ethan Knapp

Memorial Service 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Memorial visitation from 3:00 PM until time of Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be given to a favorite animal rescue organization.
