Marian J. Moser
50 year resident of Arlington Heights
Marion J. Moser was born January 22, 1913 in Algona, Iowa to Arthur and
Effie nee Byrne Smith, she passed away Thanksgiving Day, Thursday,
November 25, 2004 at the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington
Heights.
Marian was a Registered Nurse, graduate of Presbyterian St. Luke's
Nursing School and volunteered her time with a number of organizations,
including The Blue Army of The Blessed Virgin Mary, Nurses Club of
Arlington Heights, and The 3rd Order of St. Francis. She was also the
Volunteer of The Year at Americana Nursing Home in Arlington Heights and
donated her nursing and social services at Cook County Hospital for many
years. She founded over 15 prayer groups covering the northwest suburban
area. She also played piano at Luther Village's weekly Catholic Mass.
Marian is survived by her children Barbara J. (Martin) Schatzman of
Arlington Heights, George A. (Diana J.) Moser, James M. (The Late Diane
Riordan) and (Diane Miller) Moser of Arlington Heights and Patricia M.
Moser of Chicago; grandchildren Maurine Conti Sukley, Michael Conti,
Marianne Burt, Matthew Conti, Mark Conti, Martina Carr, George M. Moser,
James E. Moser, Christine Moser Altenberger, John P. Moser, Jacqueline
Bathery, Dr. Jamie Gancayco, Julie Curti, James Kennelly, Elizabeth
Vance and Emma Rose Sachs, and 28 great grandchildren; brother James B.
Smith and sister Margery Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by her husband George A. Moser, whom
she married in December of 1934 in Chicago, Illinois; a daughter Linda
Sachs, and sister Barbara Harrington.
Prayers will be held 8:45 AM, Monday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home,
Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.)
Arlington Heights to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell,
Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Visitation Sunday from 2:00 PM
until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be at All
Saints Cemetery.
