Richard T. Gebka

Of Inverness

 

 Richard T. Gebka was born  August 13, 1925 in Evanston, Illinois to Stanley and Josephine (nee Banczek) Gebka.  He died Tuesday at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates.

 

Mr. Gebka was a pipe fitter with Local #597, he also served in the army and is a veteran of  World War II.  Richard loved kids, trees, and dogs; with his family being his greatest love.

 

His survivors include his wife Anne (nee Parker) whom he married on August 31, 1952, his children Peggy (Jim) Critchfield of Palatine, Ginger Gebka of Schaumburg, Heidi Pleune of Lombard, Robin (Lami) Mechmet of Roselle, Richard (Julie) Gebka of Lemont, and Randall (Carole) Gebka of Roselle; and granddad to Jimmy, Kelly, Lauren, Jamie, Alyssa, Andy, Kyle, Bryan, Amy, Brett, Rachel and Stephanie; sister-in-law Virgina Gebka; many nieces and nephews; also Bo-Peep.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Eugenia (Joe) Tomaszewicz and Jane (Guy) Carrol; and his brother Edward Gebka.

 

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.  A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 Friday at St. Walters Catholic Church, 130 West Pine, Roselle, Illinois.  Private burial will be at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery.
