Elfi “Elvyra”  Locke
Of Arlington Heights

Elfi Locke was born on June 7, 1926 in Lithuania to Fritz and Emilie (nee Brinkmann) Dankewitz. She died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Elfi and her siblings were survivors of World War II, and she was a prior member of several Arlington Heights Clubs; Bike Club, Investment Club and Writing Club.  She was adventurous with a tremendous sense of curiosity, loved to travel and could offer a strong felt and well informed opinion about politics in any country; both here and abroad.  Elfi spent time loving and caring for her family and was loved by all.

Elfi is survived by her daughters, Marina (Jim) Behrendt and Francine (Jim Royal) Locke; husband, MacDonald Locke; brothers Gunther Dankewitz and Horst (Rose) Dankewitz; grandchildren, Clayton Locke and Breanna Behrendt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Siegfreid Dankewitz.

Visitation Sunday, October 6, 2013  from 3:00 pm  until 7:00 pm, with a 6:30 pm Words of Remembrance Service at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 Blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, Illinois  60004. Services and Interment are private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to World Vision at www.worldvision.org or St. Jude at www.stjude.org.
