James R. "Bob" Lathan, Sr. was born on September 5, 1928 in Union City, TN to Robert and Ruth (nee Marshall) Lathan. He passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Lathan worked as an architectural engineer.

James is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dolores M. Lathan; his children, James R. Lathan Jr., Marian (Steve) Nisbett, Gregory (Tammy) Lathan, Mark (Barbara) Lathan and Maureen (Dave) Cooke; his grandchildren, Jillian, Allison, Sean, Katelyn, Megan, Daniel, Matthew, Leah and Elise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Ramona Moore.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, November 2, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 am Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the funeral home to Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 E Central Rd., Arlington Heights for services at 10:00 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
