Douglas E. Burke was born on December 25, 1945 in Chicago to John Edward and Dorothy (nee Crowder) Burke. He died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Burke worked as a purchasing agent for Active Electrical Supply and retired after 43 years. Doug was a devoted husband and father. He was generous and kind-hearted to his family, neighbors and friends. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Joan D. (nee Arabinko) Burke; his children, John P. Burke, and Katherine C. (Gareth) Burke-Aiston; and his siblings, Bonnie (James) Rose, Patricia (Randy) Ennis, and Michael (Beverly) Burke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, October 26, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Prayers, 8:45 am, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the funeral home, proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL for Mass at 9:30 am. Interment Private.
