Helen A. Roberts was born on August 3, 1922 in Silvis, Illinois to Samuel and Valeria (nee Miscoffako) West. She passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 in Arlington Heights.
Helen was a graduate of Marycrest College in Davenport, IA. She worked as a radio broadcaster and a writer for many years in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Helen is survived by her niece, Linda (Thomas) Richmond; her great-nieces and great-nephew, Lynn (David) Tierney, Tommy (Sarah) Richmond and Allison Richmond; her great-great niece and great-great nephews, Kate, John and Landon Tierney; and her brother-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Roberts; her parents; and her brothers, Vete J. (the late Anastasia) Shillings and Al (the late Hildor) Shillings.
Visitation from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights where a prayer service will be held at 3:00 pm. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carolyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041 or to St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
