Raymond Jacob Nitch

Raymond Jacob Nitch was born on April 30, 1923 in Chicago to Joseph and Agnes (nee Slapka) Nitch. He died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Lutheran Home & Services in Arlington Heights.

Ray served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II. He worked as a cartographer for Rand McNally and Co. and earned the distinction of Master Cartographer. Ray was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. He was a scout master for St. James Boy Scout Troop #166 from 1963 to 1968, one his happiest achievements.

Raymond is survived by his spouse, of 64 years, Virginia, Children Kathy and husband Thomas Borresen, Nancy Sesterhenn, Michael Nitch, Joseph and his wife Jean Nitch, Steve and his wife Linda, Betsy and husband Michael Eby, Ray and his wife Kelly, and John "Jack" and his wife Chris; grandfather of 22, and great-grandfather of one.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rita Maitzen and Genevieve Nitch.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 9:15 am at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Salute Inc., P. O. Box 236, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
