Of Arlington Heights for 47 years
Lois A. Welk was born on August 25, 1932 in Chicago to Albert and Olga (nee Artwick) Albrecht. She passed away at home on October 24, 2011 after a long bout with liver disease.
Lois enjoyed gardening and was a long-time member of the Arlington Heights Garden Club. She also belonged to the Arlington Heights Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her sons, Alan (Ann) and Dale (Amy Welk; her grandchildren, Marcia (George) King, Joseph and Misty Abeln and Alexandra and Morgan Welk; her four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Audrey Langhammer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Welk; and her brother, Albert Albrecht.
Visitation 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd.,(four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00 AM Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church or to the American Liver Foundation, 1425 Pompton Ave., Ceder Grove, NJ 07009.
