Of Arlington Heights
Gary Robert Welch, D.D.S. was born on July 13, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Robert and Ellen (nee Lawler) Welch. He died on Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Arlington Heights.
Dr. Welch attended Washington University and graduated with the class of 1966. He served in the Navy as a dentist during the Vietnam War, and was a practicing dentist in Arlington Heights for 42 years. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 40 years. Dr. Welch participated in the Indian Princess program for 15 years with his four daughters.
Gary is survived by his spouse of 43 years, Sharon Anne (nee Zervos) Welch whom he married February 3, 1968 in Palos Park; his children, Anne (Thomas) Bruno of Arlington Heights, Julie Welch of Chicago, Marina (Phillip) Pavlik of Chicago, and Sherry (Brett) Ratay of Palatine; his grandchildren, Victoria, Jonathan, Stephanie, and Thomas Bruno, and William and Alaina Ratay; and his sister, Beverley Welch.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial visitation is Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 9:00 AM until time of memorial mass, 10:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Carmelite Monastery, 1101 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016, or the Lions Club of Arlington Heights, P.O. Box 513, Arlington Heights, IL 60006.
