Of Arlington Heights
Nancy L. Spellman (nee Zimmer) was born on October 15, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert and Josephine Zimmer. She died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Libertyville.
Nancy worked at the U.S. Naval Ordinance Plant in Forest Park, Illinois, where she met her husband, Edwin. They were married in 1959 and enjoyed 52 years of life together. She was a long-time resident of Arlington Heights, where they raised their four children. Nancy enjoyed attending the activities of her grandchildren and spending winters in Marco Island, Florida. She lived her life with a strong faith and deep compassion for others.
Nancy is survived by her husband Edwin; her sister, Barbara Rapp; her children, Edwin (Victoria), David (Adriana), Michael (Julia) and Susan (Brian) Heiser; her grandchildren, Devin, Alexa and Shane Spellman, Jack and Jeffrey Spellman, Michael and Sara Heiser; her nieces; Cheryl, Cindy, Christi and their families.
Visitation will be from 9 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Nancy Spellman Tribute Fund at Advocate Charitable Foundation, Hospice Care are appreciated.
