Michael Newcomb

Michael Newcomb was born June 21, 1944 in Chicago to Leo and Kathryn (nee Londo) Newcomb. He died on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.

Mr. Newcomb served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman; was a lifetime member of the NW Towns Sportsman Club, the Wheeling Archery Club, and a member of the VFW. He had a great love for his 1966 Classic Pontiac GTO.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (nee Raupp) Newcomb; his children, Jennifer (Eric) Bernstein and Jeffrey Newcomb; his grandchildren, Jordan and Sadie Bernstein; and his siblings, Donna Newcomb, Patricia Busch, James Newcomb, and Kathleen (Kenneth) McNeil.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment is at St. Mary Cemetery in Buffalo Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Masses or to your favorite charity.
