Richard Edward Beckmann
Of Arlington Heights

Richard Edward Beckmann was born on February 7, 1931 in Chicago to Edward and Margaret (nee Condon) Beckmann. He passed away on October 27, 2010 in Long Grove.

He graduated from St. Mel High School in Chicago in 1949 and earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1953. Richard worked for AEC in Wood Dale for over 25 years, then for Berg Chilling until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed working on his lawn and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor (nee Riegel) Beckmann; his children, Diane (Donald) Moore, Edward (Christi) Beckmann and James (Michele) Beckmann; his grandchildren, William, Rebecca and Renee Moore; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother Robert (Jean) Beckmann.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment at Randhill Park Cemetery.
