Barbara A. Werner was born on November 13, 1941 in Chicago to James V. and Eleanore A. (nee Coleman) Burke. She passed away on October 17, 2010 at her home in Arlington Heights.

Barbara was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, wa wa, cousin, relative and friend to many.

She was an avid camper, dog lover, cross stitcher, scrapbooker, Bison booster, Cubs fan, great big hugger, master of organized disorganization, Griswald style holiday decorator, passionate about her beliefs and keeper of the Smarties.

Full of Irish pride, her heritage and love for her husband’s Danish traditions will live on in her children and grandchildren. She was also a true romantic who was able to live her own happily ever after.

She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Werner; her children, Eric (Rosann) Werner, Craig (Paula) Werner and Kirsten (Craig) Young; her grandchildren, Erin, Macy, Odin, Teague, and Erin and Courtney Finnicum; her sisters, Kathleen (John) Litos and Maureen Burke; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 21, 2010. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
